Lemon Walnut Scones

Ingredients
zest from 1 Paramount Citrus lemon
juice from 1 Paramount Citrus lemon
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
6 tablespoons butter
½ cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
½ cup walnuts, crushed
powdered sugar for dusting
Directions
• Preheat oven to 350°F.
• Zest a lemon using a zester or a fine grater; set aside.
• Juice the lemon with a citrus reamer or juicer; set aside.
• In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter.
• In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg and lemon zest.
• Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture; add walnuts and stir until a moist dough forms.
• Roll out the dough into a 9 "circle.
• Cut the dough into 9 wedges.
• Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
• Bake for 25–30 minutes or until lightly browned.
• Let cool on a wire rack for 5–10 minutes.
• Dust with powdered sugar.
• You can top with Orange Lemon Frosting.
