Blueberry Lavender Lemonade
Source: Recipe courtesy of Tillman’s Roadhouse
Ingredients
1 pint blueberries
4 tbsp dried lavender buds
3 cups granulated sugar
8 delicious Paramount Citrus lemons
8 cups cold water
8 cups ice
Directions
Combine in a stainless steel pot the blueberries, lavender, water and sugar. Zest 4 of the lemons into the water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes to really get good lavender flavor. Turn off heat and puree in blender – be careful when blending hot items, as the steam needs a place to escape to. Place a kitchen towel over the top and crack the lid open a very small amount to allow the steam to escape. Strain out all the solids and add to the ice to chill. Stir in juice from all 8 lemons and let sit in the cooler for an hour before drinking to allow time for the flavors to meld.
This can be combined with a nice bourbon to create a memorable bourbon cocktail.
